Michelle was careful how she phrased the offer, knowing that Jack would hate feeling like a charity case and convincing herself of the need at the same time. They've been through so much together, he's seen her happy and seen her broken, and she knows that she's blamed him and punished him for things that were beyond his control. Susan would have said it was ka that Tony went to China and didn't survive and it was ka that Michelle had finally gotten pregnant with the baby they wanted so badly and now it was ka that she found herself packing up her husband's things and offering half her business to a man most of her family didn't understand and the rest of them blamed without reservation.
But she's known him for a long time and Michelle's sure Tony would approve of her decision. And in the end, that's the only opinion that matters to her.
"Okay, I'll have my lawyers start the paperwork." Her voice gives little of her thoughts away.
