Michelle stops the car in front of Tony's apartment. She pulls out the letter from her bag.

What the hell are you doing, Tony she thinks. She wipes at her eyes angrily, because she didn't want to cry over him anymore. Wasn't that part of getting divorced, not having to worry about someone so much, not having their every action be painful?

She refuses to think that she could be too late. Doesn't he know how many deaths she has on her conscience? One reason why she left CTU-LA, besides the obvious one is that she didn't want to ever have to go into the field again or watch so many people die. So she sits at a desk, a safe distance from trauma, and from having to make certain decisions.

She had been coming home from a late shift at Division. There was a briefing on a 'possible impending crisis'. Erin was there, she had taken over as head of CTU-LA and Michelle still wasn't sure how she felt about the woman even over a year later. At least everything seemed to be running smoothly, even if there was a minor attack they'd been unable to prevent last month.

It is odd that a place she had once spent so much time in that it was almost her home is now just a place that she receives reports on.

She had been flipping through the mail when she saw the letter and recognized the handwriting immediately. A few seconds later she was running out the door and getting into her car.

Now she is in front of his place and she sees with annoyance that she is clutching the letter. No matter how many times she tries to tell herself she is over him and she doesn't care, that he can do whatever he wants, it just never feels true.

I’ve been through hell since you’ve left, but I do still love you. I wish I could have seen you again one last time.

He still loves her and that is something she had doubted, but the rest of the letter, she knows what it means. Danny had written one with similiar themes.

Michelle knows where Tony lives. One perk of her job is that it's easy to get information about almost anyone. She goes up the stairs, ignoring the voice whispering in her mind that she's probably too late and that she shouldn't have left him in the first place.

Expecting the worst, she knocks. "Tony? Tony, are you there? It's Michelle."

No answer.

She knocks again, louder this time. "Tony, I'm not leaving until you let me in."

No response at that, either.

She swears under her breath and grabs the knob. If he locked the door she is screwed.

"Tony, I'm coming in." She says, partly as a warning, but also so that he doesn't accidentally shoot her thinking she's a robber.

The knob turns, the door opens and Michelle finds herself in a bar.
